Exhibition and Auction

March was a big month for us. We exhibited the work from ‘11 Stops to Baghdad’ and held our first fundraising auction, ‘The Auction of the Great Unknown’.

The ’11 Stops to Baghdad’ exhibition was an excellent evening. The Parlour Studios in Chalk Farm where the exhibition was held was packed with people. The exhibition has now been taken down but we will get all the images onto our website soon.

‘The Auction of the Great Unknown’ was a slightly more nerve-wracking affair but it ended in great success. We had 36 prints generously donated to us by some of the biggest names in photography and some top quality up-and-coming talent. True to our ambitions to support unknown photographers the auction was blind. We hung the prints without the names of who took them so that the bidders had to judge the value of a print on visual merit alone.

The auction was held at the Candid Gallery in Angel. Our curator, Anna Caldicott, did an excellent job of arranging the space, so a big thank you to her. It looked fantastic. Further thanks to all those who gave some of their time to help organising and running the exhibition and to all those people who came. It was a great opportunity to get some quality photography for an excellent price. Be sure to look out for next years ‘The Auction of the Great Unknown’.
